This weekend’s been a much-needed relaxing but busy weekend…if that even makes sense.
On Saturday I went out for a belated birthday celebration at one of my favorite Minneapolis restaurants, Chino Latino. The menu is a fusion between Chinese and Mexican…and they have s’mores on the menu – need I say more?

On Sunday it was time to run the Awake the Grapes 10K I signed up for at a wine expo a few weeks ago. I originally had thought the winery was 45 minutes from my house – but it actually turned out to be 2 hours and 45 minutes. #fail.
On the mini-road trip I saw this ad for a limo company:
Definitely eye catching!
We made it to the winery 45 minutes before start (I really appreciated the later-than-usual race start!) and had time to pickup my bib and check out the winery.
The 10K course was a good mix of road and off-road. The race started at the winery and the first mile took us through the winery and grapevines then we went out to the street and side roads and ran by a few lakes – it was GORGEOUS! I wish that the weather had cooperated more (we were running in 25mph winds), but I was happy the rain did hold off for the race.
The race really impressed me with how organized it was. With small town races it either seems like they’re either extremely organized or a hot mess – this was a prime example of how small town races should be run. The volunteers were fantastic, the course was very well marked and the water stops were plentiful; I believe I counted 3 for the 10K.
After the race it was wine time! At the wine expo I had fallen in love with their Apple Blueberry wine and had to pick up a bottle.
