After deciding to cut back to shorter distance runs, I scratched off 2 upcoming races on my calendar: the Espirit de She 10K this Wednesday and the Twin Cities Marathon. To replace these races, I added on a local 5K in mid-October.

I think by focusing on shorter distances I’ll eventually want to get back into distance running – but for now, my mind (and hamstring – no idea what I did to it during Disneyland, but it’s not feeling so hot) will thank me for taking a break. I’m already excited to get back to shorter distances. This past weekend I did a 3mile run without any distance or timing pressure – it was great! Running is starting to become a relaxing experience again!
