Exploring Disney

This is the final part of my Goofy Challenge Recap. Check out parts one, two, three and four!

After the marathon, I went out for a very nutritious dinner: nachos and beer. I’m 99% sure that was the best meal I’ve ever had (but then again after 39.3 miles anything carb-filled and greasy sounded amazing).

After-Goofy

I attempted to stay up later that night to try to be able to sleep in the next day, but I was up at 6am the next morning. I wasn’t too upset though, because we had planned to spend the day at as many parks as we could!

First up: Animal Kingdom, my favorite park! We got there pretty early, and there were hardly any lines s0 we were able to see a lot.

We went on the safari ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris and saw so many animals. It amazes me how many different species they have there!

After Kilimanjaro, I was really hungry (this was the theme of the day – I didn’t realize how hungry a race could make you!) and we grabbed a quick lunch. We then walked around for a little while more, then decided to go to Hollywood Studios to go on my mom and I’s favorite ride, Tower of Terror!

From the last time I was on it in 2004; my cousins and I fell asleep

We walked around for a little longer (we were lucky all day – hardly any lines at any of the parks!), then went back to change for dinner. We went to an early dinner in Epcot, then called it a night – we were exhausted and had a long day of traveling ahead of us! I was sad to leave Disney, but I was ready to go home to see my new puppy, who had just been neutered the day before.

Poor little guy was just neutered

While at Disney, I did have the opportunity to register for the newest challenge: Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare -similar to the Goofy Challenge with back to back race days, this race is held at Disneyland and is a 10K followed by a half marathon! I loved the Disneyland Half Marathon, and can’t wait to try out the 10K!

  1. WOW that is a huge accomplishment. I dont think after running a half marathon I could even THINK of running a marathon the next day. I am IMPRESSED.

  2. Oh my gosh that sounds like another fun challenge! I’m terrified of tower of terror. I did it when I was about 5 and haven’t tried since.
