Simply put: technology is amazing. I’ve been obsessed with using technology to work out and am even more obsessed with how it can connect us.
iPads = Future race bibs?!
Since moving to Minnesota I’ve become (even more) heavily reliant on technology to stay in touch with my friends and family back home in Boston. Technology has allowed me to be able to stay in touch with everyone and not really feel like I live so far away. It’s crazy to even think what it was like before this type of technology even existed – what would I do without my iPhone to Facetime?!
I remember back when technology was just starting to focus on connecting people - devices started having front-facing cameras for video conferencing, social media was added to mobile devices, and social games were created so you could play games with your friends and family anywhere in the world (Words with Friends anyone?). This change was great and it was amazing to me to see how fast it was adapted – everyone in my family (including my grandmother) was taking part in being connected through technology.
I couldn’t imagine not having technology and only staying in touch with my family through a few phone calls a week. Technology allows me to now constantly stay connected with everyone back home and live in the moment with them – instead of only hearing about things when I visit home. I couldn’t have imagined what the move would have been like without technology.
QOTD: How do you use technology to stay connected with your friends and family?
