This year one of my goals has been to not only challenge myself with running, but also give back to the running community by volunteering at a few races. Back in April I volunteered at packet pickup for Nike DC, and yesterday I volunteered at the Afton Trail 25K and 50K races.
This volunteering was a little different than my previous experience: I was able to work on social media for the day – how cool is that?! Throughout the day I was taking photos and updating the event’s Facebook with the latest information. This was a great experience for me as I learned A LOT – especially about taking pictures on my iPhone. One of the local running stores actually featured one of my pictures on their Facebook page! Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday:
I think iPhone photography is going to be something I’m going to continue to work on. I’m still surprised at the quality of photos I’m able to take with my iPhone – who knew?!
QOTD: Do you volunteer at races?
